The Coast of North Carolina

You could spend days, weeks, or more just visiting the beautiful sites of the coast, You could visit the Battle ship North Carolina, What ever you do you will certainly enjoy your self.

The Coastal Plain of North Carolina is one of the most historic regions of the country, essentially beginning the history of English-speaking peoples in America. In the late sixteenth century Sir Walter Raleigh, an English aristocrat, obtained permission from Queen Elizabeth to found a colony in "the Virginias" (people were a little vague about geography back then) for the purpose of prospecting for gold (the Spanish Conquistadors had shown the world how lucrative America could be after they looted the Aztecs and the Incas), growing tobacco and generally making a killing in the European market.
